KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. -- Bush League: The Show©, a revolutionary new
“Experiential Americana” reality series, is proud to announce the Outer
Banks Daredevils baseball team as the lead-off batter for the start of
the initial season. A Kickstarter fundraising campaign for the series is in its final push before production begins this June. “We couldn’t be happier to be associated with
not only the Outer Banks Daredevils but with the Outer Banks as a
whole,” Matt Noonan, co-creator said, adding, “The team and the
community are the embodiment of what this show is all about – America at
its best.”
The Daredevils, a collegiate summer league baseball
team, will be participating in the first episodes of Bush League: The
Show. The team plays in the Tidewater Summer League, made up of five
teams from Virginia plus the Daredevils. The season runs from May 26 –
August 14, comprised of 40 games featuring elite college baseball
players from all across the country.
Notable Daredevils alumni
include Ian Thomas, Atlanta Braves; Ryan Zimmerman, Washington
Nationals; Justin Maxwell, Kansas City Royals; Brandon Waring, Minnesota
Twins; Justin Verlander, Detroit Tigers; Mark Reynolds, Milwaukee
Brewers; and Kevin Youkilis, New York Yankees. In all, 21 players who
have worn the Daredevils jersey have been drafted to play in the pros.
“We’re
excited to work with Bush League: The Show to not only highlight
baseball but everything it stands for, especially with regard to young
men chasing their dreams,” Daredevils Co-Owner Michael Dooley said.
Celebrating
America and the ties that bind our communities together through the
prism of minor league baseball, Bush League: The Show will be traveling
to communities throughout the country to visit minor league teams;
profiling unique local characters and longtime fans with inspiring
stories; civic leaders and historians with backgrounds on their
communities’ place in history; and other fun and interesting individuals
who will provide viewers with inspirational and often humorous personal
insight into their own life experiences.
“We’re encouraged by
the response from individual Kickstarter sponsors and look forward to
additional fans helping us reach our funding goal before the campaign
ends May 21,” Noonan explained.
