debuted new additions to its lineup of quality, sought-after products
people love at the Lake Norman Bags & Brews Festival May 3rd in
Mooresville, N.C. The event, benefitting the Captain Mark McDowell
Memorial Foundation, drew hundreds of craft beer lovers, music
enthusiasts and cornhole players from around the state. “The Lake Norman
Bags and Brews Fest was the ultimate Happy Fix; in the face of great
loss, instead of folding up and staying sad, Captain McDowell’s friends
and family came up with this event as a fundraiser to help other
students achieve success. What greater testament is there to this
amazing young man’s legacy?” Menzies said.
Captain
Mark McDowell was a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy
(USAFA) who was shot down in Afghanistan in 2009. The Bags & Brews
Festival was designed to help raise money to establish a yearly
scholarship at South Iredell High School in Statesville, N.C.,
McDowell’s alma mater, in addition to assisting other charities and
public schools with needed funds.
“Our son is currently attending USAFA so we knew immediately we wanted to be part of this event,” Menzies explained.
The
Happy Fix booth was busy throughout the event, with visitors learning
about the company’s mission to bring people joy and confidence to
achieve their goals. Shoppers chose from plenty of new Happy Fix
products including Happy Brew tees, Happy Feels Good tees, Happy Caps,
Blast of Sunshine Koozies and Pink Happy ladies’ tees.
The
festival featured music from Noah Guthrie and High Wire, a sanctioned
corn hole tournament, and beer vendors such as Mother Earth Brewing, Big
Boss, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Olde Hickory Brewery, Appalachian
Mountain Brewery, Lagunitas Brewing, Lonerider, Natty Greene's, Aviator
Brewing Company and many more.
